christmas lights downtown...

we decided last minute to take the girls up to salt lake for an early christmas present to see the lights at temple square and stay at the grand america hotel.  we had such a great time and loved a little quiet time away, even if just for a night!  here are the pictures from our walk downtown to see the lights.  it's one of our favorite christmas traditions and couldn't leave for california without seeing them. we took trax, the transit system in salt lake, down to temple square, but when we finished up there was a long wait for the return train, so we decided we'd just walk the mile or so home.  the girls stayed bundled in their stroller and matthew and i took turns pushing (how did we forget gloves for ourselves?!).  it reminded us of our time in new york and walking all over the city in the freezing cold…and despite all the shivering and walking we miss that city life!

the girls loved the hotel and it was chaos as usual (complete with an emergency trip to walgreens at 1am that ended in me being pulled over!) but so much fun!  more of that to come!
