springtime...

after two days of spring cleaning, it was time to get out of my sweats and re-enter society.  the girls and i got dressed, stopped by campus to pick up matthew and headed to the park to work out some energy before heading home.  it was one of those nights where we just played and forgot about all those little things we probably should have remembered.  like that we were supposed to pick up matthew's car on campus on our way home (i'm just hoping he remembers to pay his parking ticket!).

utah in the spring is magic or heaven or nearly perfect...we are soaking up every single minute of it.  this park, which may just have one of the most stunning views, didn't disappoint.  it's a couple doors down from where matthew grew up, and even where i filmed a portion of a documentary about young adults across america a couple years before we had met.  i think it will always be one of my favorite parts of utah (excuse the nostalgia, we're getting down to decision time for where we want to go to law school and we're going back and forth about staying or leaving!)

the girls are a sight to see at the park.  gracie is happiest when she's running- i mean the joy just comes straight out of her.  she puts her head back and her arms out and she runs and runs.  if i close my eyes i can see it in slow motion, just like a movie.  i think when she's grown and i remember her as a little girl, that's what i'll remember.  wild and free gracie.

maddie is...i'm not sure we have the words.  so sweet you could squeeze her and then the very next moment...oh, she's just a piece of work.  she was upset the other day and wanted me to hold her, which i of course obliged.  she then demanded that gracie hold one hand and matthew hold the other...she actually demands it, "gracie hold my hand, right now!".  we sat surrounding her while gracie soothed her saying, "don't worry, gracie's here.  we love you moo moo" (it's so funny hearing gracie tell maddie the same things i say to her)- and that is our maddie in a nutshell.  she loves to be loved, and i'm not sure she ever has to ask for it, everyone around her is willing.

we are gearing up for a big weekend, filled to the brim...gracie could hardly sleep she is so excited!

do you know how much giggling it takes to jump?  a whole lot.
as gracie would say, "we are the silliest of all the sillies"
if you look close you can see maddie mid jump!

watch for the girls shorts (found here) to go on sale...they have the best adjustable waist and wash up so well!  their dragon fly necklaces have been a big hit (and they're on sale!).  i feel like it's sometimes hard to find a great black top for kids, wunway came through again here.  my favorite white jeans can be found here...and my summer vest here.

    1. Hi Tori- thank you so much! I shoot with a Canon 7D, and usually with a 50mm 1.4 lens. The lens took some practice, but I absolutely love it! I took a photography class (nicolesclasses.com) and it helped a ton when it came to figuring out shooting in manual.

Your blog was a fun read! We're partial to cute little girls over here:)

      Thanks for reading:)

  3. I love reading your blog! Each post has such fun images and your style is amazing!! I am excited for you to begin your new journey with Law School. We lived in Ohio for 4 years while my husband was in dental school and we have the best memories of our time there. Best of luck with your decisions!! (And thanks for posting where you get all of your cute things!)

    1. Oh, thank you so much- it is so good to hear that people have had a good experience moving away! It will be such a big change for us, but I think it'd help us grow as a family. Matthew actually considered applying to Ohio, I'm a little sad he didn't now!

Thank you so much for reading, I didn't see a link to your blog, but your profile picture couldn't be sweeter!:)

  4. Such adorable photos!

Also, love your sandals, who are they by? I had a similar pair a few years ago, but have since broken them.

    1. Hi Rachel:)
My sandals are from a couple years ago, they are dv by Dolce Vita, I bought them from Nordstrom. I looked online and they have some that are similar...and I'm pretty sure they still carry the leopard print (my Mom has them, they're my favorite!) in stores.

      Thanks for reading:)
