homemade play-doh

one of my earliest memories is helping my mom make homemade play-doh.  i remember sitting up to the counter with my sisters, taking turns with our favorite colors.  i loved it then, and i love it now.  play-doh is one of the girls favorite activities and it keeps them entertained longer than almost anything else.  i especially like it for this time of year when it's warm one day and freezing the next- after we've had a taste of being outside we get cabin fever being stuck indoors all day.  the store bought play doh dries out so quickly, it seems like we get one or two uses out of it before i'm throwing it in the trash while the girls aren't looking.  this is a tried and trusted recipe for play-doh.  we love making it up and picking out our colors (today we tried out mccormick's neon food colors).  when the girls are done i store it in ziploc bags or tupperware in the fridge and keep it for a few days.  i love that it is a learning activity for both girls.  maddie works on her colors and shapes.  gracie loves to count out rows and rows of it.  it also brings out her creative side, she made a beach scene today with an impressive ocean.  but our favorite thing we do is make pretend cookies...the girls giggle the whole time thinking they're going to trick matthew into eating them.  he falls for it every time:)

    1. Hi Libby, thanks for reading! My shirt is from J.Crew. I didn't see it online, but I'm pretty sure it's still in stores!
