there is something about easter weekend! we had such a great weekend celebrating with family and friends, we didn't stop the whole time! saturday we had an amazing brunch with matthew's family with the most amazing food. the kids (all 11 of them) dyed easter eggs and had a wild easter egg hunt. we headed straight from there to a birthday party filled with a bounce house, new friends and more sugar. our good friends have 3 month old twins, so i spent the entire time holding a sweet baby- maddie surprisingly did okay with it, and even fed one of the babies a bottle. huge improvement from the last few times she has seen me hold a baby! matthew and i squeezed in a date night, dinner and target, for some last minute easter bunny-ing.
sunday morning came and the girls couldn't wait to find their baskets! it was mostly little treasures with one little treat...after a non stop weekend of partying, the easter bunny was smart and attempted to curb the sugar high. gracie sang in church with all the primary kids- she smiled and waved excitedly at matthew and maddie. we were a little shocked when she stood up at dinner with matthew's family later that night and sung the song again for everyone! i can't believe it's been a year since our last easter, it feels like we're all the same until i stop and think- the girls are getting so big!
with all the fun and celebrating we did, it was nice to stop sunday morning and remember and teach the girls about what easter is all about. gracie is beginning to understand so much more, it makes it all even more special to share our love of the gospel and our testimony of the savior with her. we are so grateful to be a family and to have the knowledge of our eternal plan!
